Not a fan of F&C? My God, how is that possible?!

Another time, then…

By the way, the Aquarius budget was OK’d. Casting will start in the next two weeks.

A little chilly…

A little ambiguous, too?

Last day before my Apollo’s return. The last ten hours. Six hundred minutes. Thirty-six thousand seconds. As I put on my beige raincoat over my little cream-color dress, I can’t wait. An endless lunch and an afternoon separating me from him. From that cat-like look in his eyes. From his perfectly sassy smile. From his kisses. From his deliciously adventuresome hands.

Five days without him? Never again!!

Our private elevator takes me straight to the parking lot, and I start up my little car – which I managed to keep, although Vadim tried to replace it with a trendy 4WD, meant to protect me. I head towards the 17th arrondissement. To Rue Jouffroy d’Abbans, and here I am.

It’s not like I had a choice…

Basile and Lily have already been there for at least fifteen minutes, which means I get a nasty comment from my dear father. Inhale, exhale, ignore him. My mother greets me distractedly, without commenting on my outfit – picked especially for her – and goes back and shuts herself up in the kitchen. I try following her, but am immediately stopped by my brother.

"I don’t think you should," he whispers, holding me back by my arm.

"What’s going on?" I say, keeping my voice down, too.

"Things aren't great between Mom and Dad," Lily explains, up from the couch. "You know, like before…"

"Before? When, before?" I ask worriedly.

"You know, Alma! Before," Basile insists enough for me to understand.

"Does Dad have another mistress?" I exclaim, louder than intended.

"Sshh! Do you want things to explode or what?" my brother yells at me, charming as usual.

"OK, sorry! How do you know?"

"Mom keeps sending him packing. Just like she did twelve years ago. She never does that when he hasn’t done anything wrong…"

"Damn," I sigh, feeling really sad. "She doesn’t deserve that…"

"No, that’s for sure," Basile comments, clearly annoyed.

Hell of a lunch we’re going to have!

It actually goes by faster than expected. My parents hardly open their mouths. When they do, it’s just to ask for one dish or another, the water or the bread. No good wine at lunch, no champagne either, obviously. As for the cooking, Mom “just” made us a vegetable quiche and salad. Delicious, but much less creative and ambitious than usual.

Gourmet cooking is her passion.

She doesn’t even feel like that any more…

As we finish lunch, I make a daring leap. Without a safety net. Without looking them in the eyes, either. I'm too scared I'll see see anger in them, or worse… sadness:

"What have you got planned for your wedding anniversary? It’s going to be your 35th, isn’t it?"

"Yeah, right, it’s in a few days," Basile adds tentatively.

"I don’t know. That will depend on your father," my mother blurts out coldly. "You’ll be
